Samplitude Pro X3 offers musicians, sound engineers and producers a virtual studio environment for professional music production.
Last year, Samplitude celebrated 25 years in existence, reaching a milestone as an established digital audio workstation in the field of music production. This year we’ve concentrated further on what makes our DAW so well-respected: audio editing. With new features such as a natively integrated ARA interface and Melodyne essential from Celemony, tempo automations and Audio to MIDI function, Samplitude’s expertise in this area has been developed even further.
The Pro X3 Suite is particularly impressive, as it comes bundled with Sound Forge Pro 11 from the Creative Software product range.

What’s new in Samplitude Pro X3?
ARA interface and Celemony Melodyne essential
Celemony’s ARA expands VST protocols in Samplitude Pro X3 to keep information exchange flowing between the plug-in and host. This VST extension allows for closer interaction between Samplitude and Melodyne essential. What’s more, this plug-in is a pioneer in detailed audio editing and won a Technical GRAMMY in 2012. The essential version contains the legendary tool for editing pitch and tempo with absolute precision. Use it to adjust vocal recordings on note or scale level. Modify the timing of individual sounds and notes in both percussive and melodic recordings. The integrated time stretching feature incorporates various musical factors while retaining organic sound sequences.
We’ve also updated the mixer interface. New mixer setups have been optimized specially for different types of workflows and arrangements and you can configure them precisely to your needs. This lets you access a clear overview over your project, whether you’re working with 10, 50 or 100 tracks. The new design seamlessly combines an analog feel with digital advantages.
Audio to MIDI
The new Audio to MIDI function offers fantastic options for creative design. For instance, double the vocal track with a software instrument or convert audio tracks to MIDI data for remixing. You can also play back beatboxing from the virtual drum machine.
Tempo automation and BPM calculator
Samplitude Pro X3 automatically calculates the tempo of an audio recording in the background. Combined with the project tempo map, it’s an incredibly useful tool for music production. When working with the tempo switch within the arrangement, the tempo of your audio recording automatically adjusts to the parameters set for your project.
Better organization: Info Manager and advanced start dialog
The Info Manager lets you make comments on adjustments in objects and tracks or evaluate single takes as they’re being recorded. It works as a kind of digital notepad and gives you detailed info right in the middle of an arrangement.
The advanced start dialog enables you to adjust sample rate, bit depth and other project settings even before you start recording. It’s perfect for capturing spontaneous ideas.
New virtual instruments and Orange Vocoder ME
Using the Orange Vocoder ME and the presets supplied, you can add unique experimental sounds to give your music production the final touch.
4 new instruments have been added to the 17-strong virtual instrument collection: Pop Drums, Concert Grand, Cinematic Soundscapes and Church Organ.

The unbeatable Suite bundle: Samplitude Pro X3 Suite and Sound Forge Pro
Each version of Samplitude Pro X3 Suite now also includes Sound Forge Pro 11. This means that the powerful DAW in Samplitude is now also equipped with an audio editor.
The transparent engine in Sound Forge Pro boasts highly efficient workflows and offers extensive compatibility and crystal-clear sound. The Dolby plug-in supplied for exporting multichannel recordings in Dolby format works in line with industry standards. At the end of a project, you can create a final master with iZotope mastering tools. There’s an impressive array of tools for music production, including EQs, compressors, SRC and Dither.
The latest version of Samplitude Pro X3 also contains DDP export, used in Sequoia. In addition to physical mastering, you can transfer data to the pressing plant digitally with checksum. This guarantees a smooth pressing process.
MP3/AAC preview plug-in
The integrated preview plug-in lets you check the finished result before export. Emphasize high frequencies to counter the muffled sounds occasionally created by compression. It’s an ideal way to factor in attributes from various encoders to create masters compatible with iTunes and other music platforms.
