Support question of the month: How do you edit audio tracks and video tracks separately?

MAGIX Movie Edit Pro is used by beginners and advanced users alike. This user friendly software offers a wide range of features which can be taken advantage of straightaway thanks to their high level of usability. As beginners progress certain topics such as video dubbing become increasingly important. Maybe you want to delete the audio track from the recording and replace it with some music, in which case the answer to the following question is highly relevant.

I want to split the audio track and video track so I can edit them separately. How do I do this and can I combine them again later on?

Movie Edit Pro has the solution! First you need to select the video track if you want to separate it from the audio track.

Once you’ve done that click the “Ungroup” button, which you’ll find in the arranger area. Now the video’s audio track will appear directly beneath the video track.

If after editing you want to rejoin the separate tracks select both objects and click the “Group” button.

To make things easier for yourself it’s possible to combine several video tracks or other objects in exactly the same way.
